Weir Elementary School 1st grade is working on addition with regrouping - that equals 100. Each student picked their own numbers for six sprinkle colors. But, they had to add up to 100. Great job 1st grade mathematicians!!!

Weir Elementary School 1st grade students are learning about sound and how sound causes vibration and vibration causes sound. Here they tested sugar and sprinkles both to see if humming or speaker noise would cause more vibration. So proud of these little scientists!

Ms. Conerly’s and Ms. Fairley’s Kindergartners at WES enjoyed making t-shirts, hats, and snakes with 100 spots on the 100th day of school. They ended their celebration by watching 101 Dalmatians while eating cupcakes.

Weir Elementary School received a $5,000 TVA/STEM Award for VEX123,VEXGO, and VEXIQ Bots to scaffold the student robotics education at Weir Elementary. This opportunity allows Weir students an opportunity to apply the STEM robotics skills at each grade level.

Weir Elementary School Robotics Club participated in the Bagley School of Engineering VEXIQ Competition on January 13th. This was Weir Elementary School’s first robotics competition. We are so proud of them!
