Culinary Arts

My name is Cameron Lee and I’m a junior at Choctaw County High School. I am a second-year student in the Culinary Arts Program at Choctaw County Career and Technology Center. My teacher, Mrs. Ashley Fondren, has taught me a lot! I wasn’t interested in learning to cook until I joined this class. Some of the things that I remember most about Culinary Arts class are Mrs. Fondren teaching me how to cut correctly and how to manage my time wisely while working in the kitchen. She has also helped me to develop my leadership skills. While working in the kitchen, I try to complete my work in a timely manner so that I can assist other students with their projects.

As a Career and Technical student, I have been given the opportunity to join the student organization, SkillsUSA. As a SkillsUSA member, I will have the opportunity to compete in competitions at both the regional and state levels. At the regional level, I will compete as a member of the Opening and Closing team.

As a Culinary Arts student, I have learned to work well with others, follow directions, and cook! I have also learned many life skills that will be beneficial to me in the future.
